You Sneaky Little Devil – Am I Having A Panic Attack? by Kathy Cobb

We all know the feeling of a Panic Attack. One moment you are fine and the next thing you know you are falling apart. Your heart races, breathing increase or decreases, and your mind thinks’ the worse because what is unfolding in front of you is out of your control.

It is in those moments of panic, you need to call upon God to help calm you down and get your mental strength back. With a calm heart, you can overcome a panic attack and tackle the situation at hand.

I recently had to practice this at the airport. My ticket would not come up on my phone and boom I went into a panic mode. Thankfully, the ticket agent saw my distress and stepped in. Once it was resolved, I took a moment with God and found out the root was fear of the unknown and a feeling of helplessness. Both emotions made me feel very insecure. And yet, because of that experience, I have become aware of my weakness and have begun to address my reaction by asking myself the why’s and seeking God to help me overcome my fears.

My Goal Moving Forward – add this to My Daily Prayer to strengthen my mind against panic attacks.

My hope and desire is that by doing this I will remember to stop the panic attack by calling upon God, take a deep breath, and look at the situation as a hiccup and not a devastating blow.

The good news about this situation – I figured out what went wrong with my app and fixed the problem. So now the next time I fly, I will be prepared.

Let me know what you do to prevent panic attacks by posting below.
