26 Nov You Never Know When God Will Show Up by Kathy Cobb
Some say to be in the presence of God, you need to be totally unplugged from noise and personal contact – a secret place where you will not be distracted. Even though I agree with that statement, sometimes God may decide to visit you when you are in a very busy place.
Let me explain. Yesterday, I was at the dentist. This particular appointment required several hours of intensive work. I knew that I was going to be nervous and would need extra reinforcement to relax. What was I going to do? I could not go into a secret room, so I did the next best thing – I turned on my Pandora radio worship station, plugged in my earphones and let my mind engage in worship music.
As I listened, the sounds around me began to fade away. Within minutes, I found myself in the secret place, worshipping and listening to God’s voice. As my mind settled, God began ministering to me. At one point, I started to feel anxious from the sound of the drill and do you know what God did? He created a special moment for us … the song Amazing Grace began to play. Our song! The song that has been with us from the very beginning when got saved 35 years ago. The song that soothes my heart whenever I am worried, stressed or overcome. The song that he brings to me no matter where I am at or whatever situation I am in. The song, that immediately brings me into the secret place. Where the world disappears, and I engage in his presence.
I wanted to share this with you to remind you that God’s presence is always with you. It does not require you to do a certain thing, he just asks you to invite him into your situation.
