The Power of Kindness: A Weakness or Hidden Strength? by Kathy Cobb

Some believe that “Kindness” is a weakness, but the real truth is that kindness is a powerful action that can change lives, communities, and nations. Kind words have strength behind them. They build self-esteem, which produces confidence. A confident individual explores the endless possibilities before her, tries new things, celebrates her achievements, and shares her blessings.

One of the greatest gifts you can give yourself is to speak kindness into your own heart. From there, let it become an action word that flows outward to others. Kindness builds confidence, which builds character and change.

Below are a few additional ways to show you care:

  • Giving a helping hand to family and friends without being asked
  • Random acts of kindness when I am out and about
  • Words of encouragement- building words
  • Having a listening ear
  • Being patient
  • Treating others with respect
  • Giving a smile
  • Hugging a friend – it could be the only contact that someone had that day

Remember that small acts of kindness throughout your day can be life changing for those you encounter. Acts of kindness bring blessings both ways. One simple smile can change a life, family and community!

If you desire more confidence, build a “kindness” vocabulary, and begin speaking it to yourself. Try it for the next 30 days and let me know how your journey went!
