21 Mar Potty Training and New Roads to Travel by Kathy Cobb
You want to change and yet you fear change. Does that sound like you? I believe what’s behind the fear of change is the unknown path it will take us.
Changing direction requires us to let go of routines and familiar patterns. It causes us to re-evaluate the reasons behind our unhappiness and that can make us very uncomfortable.
I recently helped my daughter potty train her son. Both experienced change of routines, familiar patterns, and growing pains. But the best part is that when it was all said and done, both felt accomplished and each one can enjoy new experiences because they made changes in their daily life.
I know it’s a bit crazy to use this example, but just like my grandson, change will allow you to move into the next season of your maturity. Once you overcome your fear, there are new opportunities waiting to be discovered. Taking the first step is up to you!
