30 Jun Need Extra Cash This Summer? Hold a Yard Sale! by Kathy Cobb
Do you have treasure bulging out of your closets? Extra toys, dishes, books, glassware, antiques, clothing, sports gear, and kids’ accessories? If so, have a YARD SALE! Did you know that yard sales produce millions of dollars across the United States each year? Why not join in on the fun and make some extra spending money for your summer activities!
If you would like to have a yard sale, try buddying up with a friend and make a day of it. Pick your date, time, and the goodies you want to sell, advertise with signs and take advantage of free advertising in your local paper. Make sure you price each item and arrange everything, so it looks inviting. To include your kids, have a Kool Aid stand. It is a wonderful way for kids to join in on the fun, make money and learn how to be an entrepreneur.
If you have any treasures left over, then donate them to your local charity. When donating, make sure the items are in great condition because they will become “Treasure” for someone else to enjoy!
