Hug Therapy by Harriette Davis

Hug Therapy by Harriette Davis

Have you experience HUG THERAPY lately? Hugs say, You are special; I care about you. They make people smile, lifting the heavy load one may be carrying. What makes a hug so unique and powerful?

In Genesis 1:1-2 we read that the Spirit of God moved over the face of the water this moving, fluttering or vibrating was our first physics lesson provided by God, where matter and motion, which becomes energy, were introduced on earth and began to operate. The Holy Spirit is our source of all energy and we need to understand the spiritual lesson behind hug therapy, and how it affects us in our service to the Lord.

Hugs can be therapy for our spirits as my spirit and your spirit connect with God’s Spirit. Hugs provided by the Holy Spirit serve as a powerful exchange of energy between people; you can actually feel it happening. It is a real awareness of renewed stamina; it is a burst of physical vitality, giving us additional strength and endurance for the tasks of the day. Haven’t you wondered why hugs feel so good? This exchange of energy produces warmth, but it is so much more than just a warm fuzzy feeling.

I’m sure you have heard or made the statement, I don’t have any energy today. That is not factual when we have God’s Spirit dwelling within us. The Energizer is there; the source of our strength resides inside of us. We are just not appropriating and using that energy as we should. Have you received your hug from God today? It will refresh and restore your spirit!

Give someone a hug today, and experience the exchange of energy that comes from the Holy Spirit who created hug therapy to remind us that He loves us and wants us to love each other and be productive. Hug therapy can go a long way in reducing doctor bills and in strengthening us in His ministry.

Therefore, if there is any consolation in Christ, if any comfort of love, if any fellowship of the Spirit, if any affection and mercy, fulfill my joy by being like-minded, having the same love, being of one accord, of one mind. Philippians 2:1-2 (NKJV)
