God, Our Ultimate Traveler and Guide by Nickie Wheeler

Life is a highway, or a dirt road or a hiking trail or the quiet spot on your deck…. Whatever the pace if your life, you can find God in the crazy moments or the quiet moments. He is there with us, every step of the way. You hear him in the wind or see him the beautiful flower. Our busy lives should not be the excuse for ignoring God. His presence is more than just an imprint in our lives, it’s a way of life. He is the ultimate guide in the chaos. Yes, there will be still be difficulties, there are always challenges being an imperfect human in an imperfect world. The choice we make is to lean in or check out. We find in taking a few moments to change our focus, to take a breath, to let out a laugh (or cry) we can see more clarity in whatever situation we find ourselves in by using these as a prayer, a conversation (even a quick one) to God. I am always looking for the adventure in my day, even the small things bring me the Joy of adventure. I believe God made me to live fully, to take advantage of what is around me, not to overlook the fun in life and to always be exploring. Jesus is a good example of a traveler, he roamed the streets, he took a sail in a boat, he hiked the mountains, he lay in a garden in prayer. He brought the word to the people, not the other way around. Being part of life, being open to the travel that might be involved, paying attention to the beauty, to live life to the fullest, draws people, helps you meet people, helps you give a breath of HOPE to others you meet along the way! For me the power of an adventure is the ability to connect with others, to hear their story and to give a word of encouragement. No matter where my day finds me that’s my goal! Go where you will do the most good, you are led by the ultimate traveler!
