11 Jun Glorify Him by Diane Turel
Often times God places a song in my heart to remind me of Him, to encourage me, or to give me the ability to lift and encourage someone else. They come at the oddest times, but they always lead me to stilling my heart before the Lord and listening to what He is saying to me in his quiet still voice. This past Sunday it happens when I was praying for a friend. The song was Glorify Your Name, by Lakewood Church. The words that God brought to mind and to my heart from the song were:
Your presence, Your glory, You’re welcome here
All honor, dominion, Lord please come near
I want You, I need You, I live to glorify Your name
Glorify Your name above all names
As I meditated on these words I felt God was saying that in all that we do, all that we say, all that we ponder, in the end it should all lead to glorifying Him.
The Lord also said, “I have placed wants and desires and needs into your heart. I delight in giving you the desires of your heart. I do so to lead you back to Me. I have given you free will to choose Me or your wants, needs and desires, so will you glorify Me?”
He went on to press on my heart that when those things become more important than Him, then they have become a distraction that needs to be examined and checked. He wants to know if you are willing to lay them down and sacrifice them in order to glorify Him. It is your choice. What will you chose?
My heart cries out to the Lord, “I want you, I need you, I live to glorify Your name!”
