Domestic Queen by Kathy Cobb

Domestic Queen by Kathy Cobb

Today I found myself running around doing the daily chores that keep a household running smoothly. I must admit that there are times I would rather not be the Domestic Queen, but rather the Lady of the Manor who hires the housekeeper. Yet the idea of my own maid actually makes me laugh! Don’t get me wrong. I wouldn’t mind the help, but to have a live in maid 24/7 would drive me crazy! You see, I need the stimulation of keeping a household running smoothly. My husband laughs at me when he comes home and once again finds the family room rearranged. Changing table cloths brings me joy. Preparing new dishes for my family makes me feel like a famous chef! Many nights I insist on doing dishes because the warm water running over my hands brings peace to my soul. You should see me dance with a broom. You would be amazed how well my partner and I waltz around the room together. As for laundry, years ago an amazing woman of God suggested that I use the folding time to pray for my family. I call it my love chore! So the next time you find yourself overwhelmed with your household chores, turn on the music, grab a broom and dance. You may find that your daily chores can bring you joy if you learn to have a little bit of fun. If this isn’t your cup a tea, hire a maid!

Great minds think alike. Kathy, I loved this post. Especially the dancing, the warm water and the prayer chore. You made me smile. 🙂
