08 Jan Celebrating Yourself by Carol Storey
I’ve been watching Hallmark movies and of course we all know that no matter what the struggle the boy always gets the girl. They kiss and supposedly live a happy life. But we often forget how they got there and how they got that kiss.
The same struggles that got them to that kiss will be the same struggles they face daily. Have you ever thought beyond that kiss? Have you ever thought about the old struggles but with a new twist? Have you ever thought about it’s all a script anyway so how could it relate to me and my struggles?
I go about my day, and I haven’t found anybody reaching out to me and seeing me for who I am or could be with them. I haven’t been introduced to a ’hunk’ who swept me off my feet. What’s wrong with me? I’m as pretty as the next girl, maybe not as witty. I do all the right things, live my life with respect for others. I’m trustworthy and use common sense. And yet, here I sit.
Just because I don’t have a love interest does not mean I cannot celebrate myself. Just remember this, we are all special. We all have successes, failures, laughter, joy, fears, goals and much more. So why not celebrate yourself!!!!
