24 years ago, when I found out I had melanoma skin cancer God sent me to Psalm 57. Upon reading the first paragraph, I knew he would be with me until this disaster passed. I remember being so afraid. I had a 2-year-old and a husband that I loved so deeply and was feeling beaten down. You see, months before I had a miscarriage and while losing the baby, I had to have a hysterectomy. Verdict – No more children! Emotionally distraught it took me a long time to recover. Then 6 months later I got the “cancer” word – one that the world considered a death sentence. However, God had something else in mind! The reason I am sharing this is for you to always hold onto and remember that our God always has the last word!! I still had to go through major surgery and a difficult recovery, and I must admit it was hard to get through it all. To this day I still bare the scares as a reminder – but I can say that through it all God sustained me and kept my family under the shadow of his wing. So today, I want to encourage you that no matter what your trials are the Lord is with you. Read Psalms 57 and allow the Lord to minister to you – I promise you will experience his love and your faith will be quickened!!
