As a Christian woman, I have always had a deep desire to see my passions make a difference. But trying to focus my passions and creativity into actions has occasionally challenged me. My dreams and ideas have sometimes seemed so big that I would find myself getting lost in them. However, one day God started speaking to me about my call and how I was wired to be successful. As I reflected upon this notion, I realized that God deeply desires to be part of our business dynamics; to see us succeed in every aspect of our business. But first, He pressed upon my heart that our dreams of owning a business is not about little ole me or you, but it is an extension of His greater work men and women serving others around the world with love, respect, and honor, and putting their best foot forward!

We have all heard the expression, “What would Jesus do?” So, what would Jesus do in the business world? First, we know that Jesus was a businessman before he went into ministry. As a carpenter and a Godly man, He was called to give His best to His customers by delivering quality products to His community. The business principles He learned through His faith were also given to him by God just like they are given to us today. Like us, Jesus had yearning, a desire to make a difference in life. I can just picture Jesus talking to God about His future as He crafted yet another masterpiece out of wood. It was in those moments He was learning the principles that would one day change the way people thought for eternity.

For me, it has been through seeking God and through the scriptures that I learned several principles for succeeding in business. First, God has designed us to worship, work, create, serve, love, and to enjoy the world He created. Second, our part as an entrepreneur in the workplace is to inspire, serve and empower others through our gifts and talents. Third, He instructs us to build one another up in faith and business. Fourth, we are to help our fellow believers prosper and shine in their calling. Finally, we are to extend the same courtesy to others as we mingle in business and throughout our communities.

With God leading the way, not only will your faith soar, but you will become laser focused on your business and, most importantly, you will see the bigger picture of your call through the eyes of the master creator of life God Himself! Once I began to understand that God designed me for business and I let him lead the way, my dream began to become a reality and my journey in business took flight. My prayer for you is that you will ask God to be part of your business so you can experience the guidance of the Master as He unlocks the greater work within you!!
