Forgiveness is Key to Healthy Living by Kathy Cobb

Forgiveness is Key to Healthy Living by Kathy Cobb

Forgiving someone who has hurt you can be very difficult. Even though God commands us to forgive, letting go of someone’s callous words and abuse can bring up a lot of emotional pain. When your feelings are not addressed, it can wreak havoc on all levels of your life. On a personal level your body suffers, your mind never rests, and you build emotional walls that keep you from experiencing deeper relationships and friendships. Family dynamics can also be strained when you cannot forgive and let go. The same thing goes for your workplace environment.

It has been said that forgiveness is really not about the other person. This is a very true statement. Since we are not responsible for other people’s actions, we need to leave their actions, words, and responses to God.

God cares about your reactions, feelings, and setting you free from the bondage of un-forgiveness.

You see – forgiving others frees your heart to live a more meaningful and joyful life. A forgiving heart keeps you closer to God so you can experience his love and counsel. By forgiving others, you are set free from the control

and sting of those words, abuses, and loss. It also gives you spiritual muscles to cope, let go, and conquer another person’s control over you.

An open heart enables you to see clearer and learn from the situations that have crushed you in the past. The best about being free is that it gives you the courage to set healthy boundaries for your future relationships.

If you are tired of living under the thumb of un-forgiveness, start today by writing down those offenses. Allow yourself time to process it all. Then begin by addressing the root cause. Pray and begin forgiving. Your life is too precious to let someone else’s negative energy control you!

If you need someone to chat and pray with, message me and I will pray with you. Never forget that you are precious and God wants you to live life with confidence, joy, and peace! 💖💖Kathy Cobb
