Happiness! Yes, Happiness! I am returning from a National Conference on Behavioral health, where the keynote speaker was Shawn Achor of the Happiness Advantage.  I sat there and listened to what he was saying and realized, wow that’s how I live my life! Making a choice to be happy, even in the midst of challenging situations. He has done a ton of research about Happiness and choice, (he is a professor at Harvard as well). He has proven that by being happy you improve your mind, and it allows you to be more creative, more productive and more in touch with the people around you. I don’t think this is new to anyone. Jesus preached the same thing! Rejoice! He spread happiness through the Word! The Word of God is at the base of all happiness. It is what lifts us up and what enables us to live through the horrible times and have the resilience to keep moving forward. Those words from the Bible echoed through my mind as I was listening, the tie to faith and happiness is so tight, it cannot be separated in my mind! We live in a world where sometimes people feel guilty for being happy, for showing a positive view, I know for me, people attack my happiness saying it can’t be real. It’s not that I don’t struggle with difficult things, it’s that my faith is not in me it is in God. That makes all the difference. The light people see, the happiness is a gift from God, meant to be shared. yes, I am silly, yes, I like to make people laugh. Yes, I love to have fun, this world has too many dark places not to try to bring genuine Joy to the people around you. I choose to be Happy, to look at the world with a heart of Faith, knowing that I can make a difference through Him, not me. I am blessed with the sense of wonder and love adventure and being silly. I can use these things to make people smile, to show the Light in a non-threatening way. It gives me the opportunity to talk about the real root of Happiness! You too have the same opportunity, to view the world and all its glory through the lens of Happiness, the more you do it the more you will find it. Your spirit will be lifted, your Joy will shine through, you will speak without speaking! Be a Happiness magnet and help people see the good that God has done for them! Life is good and we are blessed to be the vessels for spreading the Word of God through a smile and a laugh!

I am life and fitness coach and am certified in several types of fitness and nutrition areas. I have worked in the public mental health field for the past 25 plus years. I am also a trained Stephen Minister and Stephen Leader. I have lead numerous bible and accountability groups over the past 15 years. My passion is to inspire women to find the best version of themselves using spiritual, physical and emotional avenues.
